kale

has more nutritional value for fewer calories than almost any other food
This super food can be found in most grocery stores all year round,
but is truly in season from the middle of winter to the first part of spring.
During this time it tastes its best and is most widely available.
Along with its relatives such as brussels sprouts, collard greens, and cabbage,
is full nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and E, fiber, calcium,
manganese, and loaded with sulfur containing phyto-nutrients
which have been shown to protect against many kinds
of cancer including breast and ovarian.
This is my kind of green veggie.
I always learned the darker the leaf, the more it packed for you.

so today, we make Kale chips!
not only are they delicious but they serve as a healthier option
to fattening & greasy potato chips or sweets.
It beats cravings & is obviously the smarter and healthier version.
Did I mention, it's super inexpensive, too!

1 bunch (about 6 ounces) kale
1 tablespoon olive oil
Sea salt- to taste

Preheat oven to 300°F.
Rinse and dry the kale, then remove the stems and tough center ribs.
Cut into large pieces, toss with olive oil in a bowl then sprinkle with salt.
Arrange leaves in a single layer on a large baking sheet
Bake for 20 minutes, or until crisp.
Place baking sheet on a rack to cool.
& enjoy!!

  9. I love kale! We boil it for a few minutes and eat it with sauted shallots, and it's SO GOOD. Plus, kale's very good for you! I'm a vegan, and my mom did research into why you ought to go vegan. One of the things she researched is calcium and what you can eat instead of milk to get enough of it. She found that kale is a food that's very high in it. In fact, one cup of cow's milk has about 296 mg of calcium, and one cup of boiled kale has 94 mg!

Just thought I'd share. :) It makes you even more interested in eating kale when you know it's really good for you!
