I'm long overdue for a post on the vendors

I have enjoyed buying from and looking through.

here are some from the past few weeks.

seriously guys

I have become such a fan

of goat cheese after not liking it at all

because of this company. 

if you have tried it yet- do so!

I guarantee you'll love the many varieties

they have to offer and they have

an amazing farm based restaurant.

this guy is pretty amazing-

his dips are incredibly delicious 

and it's not the only thing he sells!

he makes everything fresh and uses

all local ingredients.

chaz's gourmet chow chow

I had only ever had chow chow once

before meeting Charles and boy was I missing out.

this chow chow is beyond out of this world-

we buy the hot and use it with everything, 

especially mixed into cream cheese!

it's the best dip I've tasted by far.

Ben's Ice Cream

kid tested and approved-

this is Ben's ice cream made with their

fresh picked peaches from the farm!

this stuff is seriously creamy, sweet

and perfectly chunky with peaches!

  I have bought many things from these lovely farmers-

those veggies include; zucchini, squash & kale!

you can tell their produce is happy

and well taken care of to be sold every 

week to lucky consumers like us!

I just met these lovely farmers this past Sunday

and not only were they out of this world nice

but they knew exactly what kind of recipe

fit with their amazing produce.

these ladies make the most gorgeous handmade

jewelry I've seen in a long time. 

each is absolutely original and unique

and I've fallen in love with a few necklaces!

The Ice Queen

from ice pops to handmade milkshakes
this lady's got it going on!
it is totally kid tested and approved.

market and fell in love with her handmade
candles that smell out of this world amazing!

market melodies

I've been sharing my Urban Market finds and the local

farmers/vendors who make the whole thing possible

and thought it would be appropriate to share my video too.

I've been spending the last few weeks

 taking a time based media class for the 

first semester of summer session- the last day of class

is Friday and as I've been working on another project

I tried my best to perfect this one so I could share.

The project was to be based on sound and was limited
to document a specific place we chose. 

With permission and support from the 

South Elm Urban Market, I had the perfect place to use!

It took about three Sunday's of footage and

three weeks of clipping, editing and perfecting

this three minute video and I am so proud of it,

considering this is the first time I've ever done

anything with time based media.

I used Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.

I would love to hear what you think-

please don't hesitate to critique.

the first half is sound based on the band 

The Grand Ole Uproar's song "Black Coffee"

coupled with video I shot of local farmers and vendors.

the second half of the video where the music tapers off

is based solely on the sounds I heard walking through the market-

you'll hear a lot of talking, wind blowing through tree's

and through local metal cast art and of course laughter.

south elm urban market volume one

this past weekend my dear friend Kristin texted 

me about an Urban Market that is taking place from 

May to November every Sunday here in Greensboro. 

It's called the South Elm Urban Market because of it's location

and because local farms, local businesses, vendors 

and artists can sell their produce and work.

I was so happy she reminded me so I found a sitter and 

headed there to meet my friends for noon.

The day was perfect, not too hot, sun shining and a breeze. 

The vendors couldn't have been more kind 

and educated about their products!

we stopped for a late lunch at Natty's 

and said our goodbye's after.
  It was a perfect afternoon.

not only were her cupcakes the bomb

but she does all of her cakes from home

she's super woman.

have her make the sweet treats

for your celebration!

Schoolhouse Farm

so many great things to say about this family

they had all of their kids sitting with them

so excited to share their products.

the honey was out of this world fabulous!

can't wait to buy some next Sunday.

Audrey & Clyde

this sweet lady doesn't have a website

or online shop but said she was about to set them up.

her hand made goods are adorable

and as you can see mostly birds- she had my heart.

I will post her sites once shared. 

Thai Pan

This Thai restaurant is amazing and 100% authentic.

I tried the peanut sauce and an out off this world

 tea they were serving up at the market-

my girlfriends and I will be having dinner there soon

to celebrate birthdays so I'll keep you posted!

Dodge Lodge Farm 

 as I walked out I spotted this booth
with tables filled with cartons of fresh strawberries.
this mama couldn't say no- they were so sweet smelling.
