kale chips

why we love them:
these are the perfect snack to satisfy a salty craving.
make a big batch and snack throughout the week instead of
grabbing that bag of chips- this is an extremely healthy jammed packed snack.
it has more nutritional value for fewer calories than almost any other food.
it can be found in most grocery stores all year round,
but is truly in season from the middle of winter to the first part of spring.
during this time it tastes its best and is most widely available.
it's full of nutrients including vitamin A, C, and E, fiber, calcium,
manganese and loaded with sulfur containing phyto-nutrients
which have been shown to protect against many kinds
of cancer including breast and ovarian.
if you haven't tried kale chips yet, try this recipe- you won't regret it.

what you need

one bunch (about 6 ounces) kale
  onetablespoon olive oil
sea salt- to taste

what to do
first preheat oven to 300°F
rinse and dry the kale
you'll want to remove the stems and tough center ribs.
cut into large pieces and toss with olive oil in a bowl
then sprinkle with salt.
arrange leaves in a single layer on a large baking sheet
bake for twenty minutes or until crisp
place baking sheet on a rack to cool
we like them hot right out of the oven
this recipe is mom test, kid approved
enjoy!
