why we love our toys

June 01, 2011

I sat down with Adriana and Ryland
a while ago and asked them what
toys they would like to get rid of and which
they would like to keep-
surprisingly, they kept putting aside
their plastic toys and had more of an interest
in their wooden, educational toys.
 that made this mommy happy.
ever since then I have invested
 in more eco friendly, wooden
 and educational toys.
so why do we love our toys?
when I asked Adriana she said,
"I like my room to be bigger and with
a lot of toys it gets to be too much mom,
so I guess the ones I have I can never get tired of
cause I like my room being so clean and big
plus, my toys are fun!"
well said little lady.
and when Ryland was asked he said,
"I don't know! I like my trucks and I like my
train track and trains, and I really like my tools!"
all while he did karate moves on his bed
doing little hi-ya punches in the air when he
would say a toy he liked.
 silly boy.

I find that their wooden toys
last longer and you can add so much to them.
Ryland has a gigantic wooden Melissa & Doug train set
that we can keep adding to through the years-
as well as over sized recycled trucks!
Adriana has a Plan Toys Doll House
 that she absolutely loves
and can add to throughout the years as well-
and a fabulous all wooden kitchen with all wooden
 accessories, down to the toaster,
that are out of this world fun!
They are great companies keep coming out with
fantastic new wooden, role playing,
and education toys that we will never tire of!
and we just wanted to share <3

and our usual munchkin pictures

and snack of the day!

  1. I can not wait to buy a doll house, I didn't even realize how much I wanted to until your pictures!
I need to go through Jack's toys still, he has an over abundance of matchbox cars and they just take over everything!

  3. I totally have to agree! I was just thinking about this yesterday as I played with Bella, she kept gravitating towards the quality wooden ones. I just love Adriana's kitchen, and the dollhouse is awesome! We're getting Bella a dollhouse for her third birthday in 6 months, I can't wait to start looking for a good one!

I just wanted to thank you for all your encouraging words on my blog, especially about my Papa, I really appreciate them. You're such a sweet soul <3

  4. Love the wooden toys! :) We have a road set - it's all interlocking road pieces, like that train set, with little wooden cars and trucks and houses. I played with it for years!
