things will get better.

May 13, 2011

that's what I keep telling myself at least.
things lately haven't been going so great.
I was taken by surprise when a professor
of mine decided she would take her
sour attitude out on me and give me a grade
I did not earn in her class this spring semester.
She exclaimed I did not get the grade
she posted, yet it reflects on my final grades.
how silly of her to think I'm so stupid.
so essentially, my financial aid has been cut
and I may not be able to attend school
this summer or fall due to a woman
who evidently graduated with a master's degree
in clown school and
who thinks my education is a joke.
When is enough, enough with professors?
when can a student have had enough, stand up
and flip the bird in rightful mind.
which is what I totally want to do, right now.
 pardon my language.

It takes a lot to piss me off.
It doesn't take much to worry or stress me.
I feel like because I'm the student
and she's the professor, that she
thinks she can treat me with disrespect.
I am a grown woman.
I am a student earning my spot to be in
the same position she is in
right now, teaching people.
and I do not limit this only to professors but
to the staff of UNCG that I have encountered as well-
I have had such an inconsistent and
unpleasant run in with a lot of the people
 who call themselves Spartan Alumni
and faculty. It hurts when a person
of high authority can put you down
or throw you down because, what?
I look 16. I'm entering my senior year.
I make damn good grades.
AND I DON'T need to justify to these people, my life.
especially when they don't give a crap.

I just have done my part.
I have done all I can do.
I have exhausted my options
and now I wait. I wait to hear back
from financial aid who kindly enough
pays for my entire university education and a little more.
I am grateful for the aid I get semester after semester.
The thing is, I was all set and ready to receive my check,
ready to start the summer semester
and now because she entered my wrong grade in
and late might I add, I get nothing until my appeal
is heard and I can go back to living my normal life again.
blarg.

I have some things that did make me happy
this week and kept me sane. of course I'll share!

  7. Melissa- they are little characters :) our munchkins would get a long well, it sounds like they like some of the same stuff!

Bevin- I have been up to the school over a dozen times already trying to fix this, I have emailed the woman, I have contacted every possible person- no results. I am being told that the work I produced all semester, cannot be seen and that I have to produce that work again if I want a grade. are you kidding me? I spent 8 weeks working my butt off on work that took up a lot of my spare time. I just am at a loss for words and really don't know what to do at this point. It is very frustrating. Thanks for supporting that love!

Bea- girl, you made me so flipping happy- I got that package and I smiled from ear to ear. I am making a huge pitcher of iced mango black tea today!! I'll post pictures soon <3
