Adriana's school held a "Jamboree" a few weeks ago-
it's a celebration for all the hard
work the kids have done this year
in the HUGE field outside behind the elementary school.
At first, I dreaded going- I don't necessarily fit in with the
soccer mom crew at her school but I sought to it
to be who I am and not care what they thought.
I also tend to get stares because people think
I'm younger than I really am so it's the "teen mom" glare-
I try my hardest to ignore the looks and accusations.
Regardless, my anxiety soon shattered as we pulled up-
there were so many games & activities for the whole family.
It was beyond fun and it didn't hurt that my dad
and sister showed up to join in on the fun.
Wow, that looks awesome! I love that it was fun for Ryland, too!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about being the youngest mom and not really welcomed by other parents who may or may not have preconceived notions about you and how old you were, etc. I really struggle with making friends/having relationships with other moms at Lily's school for the same reason. Take heart, most of the time, people are just as vulnerable and insecure as everyone else and looking for a place to fit in, too. Try not to take it personally, and if you can- be bold! Introduce yourself and see what happens! I'm sure there are others who feel the same and would love a friend, too. :)
HUGS!
thank you dear friend- you always know what to say. <3
